How I will help my Clients during the COVID-19 pandemic

A message to my Clients

The Alberta Government has listed Real Estate as an essential service but this does not mean business as usual by any means.

This is a very stressful time for all of us, as together we are facing an unprecedented global crisis. COVID-19 has forced us all to change how we live day to day as we fight to contain the virus.

I will continue to help my clients including providing support to the landlords and tenants of the rental properties I manage. The safety measures I am following are being guided by Alberta Health, Alberta Government and the Federal Government.

The biggest change I have made relates to how I communicate and conduct my business with my clients and my brokerage. CIR Realty has industry leading technology that allows me to keep in touch with you, provide you with property details and write or accept offers on properties electronically.

I am taking every possible measure to keep myself healthy by working from home. I am strictly limiting person-to-person exposure to reduce risks.

These are the measures I have adopted to protect my Buyers: –

  • Anytime I need to meet a client, I will take the online COVID-19 screening test and I will request you take the same test.
  • If we are viewing properties, I will only allow a maximum of 2 people in the property.
  • If you want to view a property, I will request health and recent travel information from the sellers before viewing the property to give us an indication of any risk. If a seller is unable to provide this information, I will not show the property.
  • We will travel in separate vehicles to viewings to limit the amount of time spent in proximity to each other.
  • Before viewing a property, we will take advantage of virtual video tours and online photos for initial viewings of properties. I will only show properties that you are genuinely considering purchasing.
  • We will take precautions during viewings, including wearing nitrile gloves or using alcohol-based, anti-microbial hand sanitizer, buyers will not touch, doorknobs, cupboard hardware, light switches or other surfaces. I will also be wearing a face mask.

These are the measures I have adopted to protect my Sellers: –

  • Anytime I need to meet a client, I will take the online COVID-19 screening test and I will request you take the same test.
  • I will not be conducting any open houses.
  • I will request health and recent travel information from potential buyers and their professionals before any showing to give the seller an indication of any risk. Buyers are obligated to either be truthful or simply decline to answer. You have no duty to show the property if you are uncomfortable with any presented risk.
  • I will take lots of photos and create a video tour of the house to reduce the number of viewings.
  • I will make viewings conditional on buyer’s and their representatives wearing nitrile gloves or the use of anti-microbial, alcohol-based hand sterilizer.
  • I will ask buyers to limit touching any doorknobs, cupboard hardware, light switches, as well as surfaces in areas like bathrooms during the showing.
  • I will ask you to take all precautions necessary, including cleaning and sanitizing the home before and after any showing or home inspection.
